We began as a group of friends both within and outside the Waorani community who wanted to create a direct line between donations given to help the Waorani Nation, and the most vulnerable communities within the territory. It is our goal to raise and distribute funds for healthcare; medical and educational supplies; and basic provisions to communities hard-hit by COVID-19, other illnesses, and flooding within Waorani territory. By maintaining minimal staff and almost no overhead, we are able to provide extremely fast, direct relief to urgently effected communities in a way few other organizations can. Additionally, the majority of the board of Fundacion Warepo Beye is Waorani, meaning the community has majority representation. We know exactly what is needed and where because we are living in the community.
